Today's Pause (the "App") respects your privacy and follows applicable privacy and data protection requirements. This policy explains what information is stored when you use the App and how it is handled.
The App does not directly collect any personally identifiable information (such as name, phone number, email address, or address). There is no sign-up or login process, and we do not request information that identifies you personally.
The following information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to external servers.
| Stored Item | Purpose | Storage Location |
|---|---|---|
| Quick self-check result category | Delivering personalized messages | On device (AsyncStorage) |
| Bookmarked message IDs | Bookmarks feature | On device |
| History of viewed messages | Preventing duplicate delivery | On device |
| Notification settings (on/off, time) | Daily one-line delivery | On device |
| BGM settings (on/off, theme) | Background music preference | On device |
| Onboarding completion status | Skipping onboarding on return | On device |
To improve service quality and monitor stability, the App uses Google Analytics for Firebase, which collects the following data. No personally identifiable information is collected.
| Data Collected | Purpose |
|---|---|
| App interaction events (screen views, category selection, message views, bookmarks, shares, etc.) | Analyzing user behavior patterns and improving features |
| Device information (OS version, app version, device model, language setting) | Compatibility and stability management |
| Approximate location (country/region based on IP address) | Regional usage pattern analysis |
| Firebase App Instance ID (pseudonymous identifier) | Identifying same-user sessions (cannot identify individuals) |
| Advertising ID (ADID) | Used only for analytics purposes — not used for advertising delivery |
| Crash and ANR reports (stack traces, device state) | Diagnose abnormal app terminations and improve stability (Firebase Crashlytics) |
This data is stored on the Firebase infrastructure operated by Google (Analytics, Crashlytics), and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising targeting. The App does not use any advertising SDK.
You can control the collection of analytics data through the following methods:
The App uses the following permissions, with each purpose described below.
The App does not collect or access your camera, photos, microphone, contacts, or location.
When you use share features (such as copying text, or sharing via KakaoTalk or Instagram), only the screen image or message text you choose is passed to other apps based on your selection. The App does not separately log or store who you shared with or what you shared.
Because all data is stored only on your device, there is no externally retained data on our side.
You can delete all data stored on your device — categories, bookmarks, notification settings, BGM settings, viewed-message history, and onboarding records — at any time through Settings → "Reset Data". If you delete the App, this data is also removed from your device at the same time.
The App currently does not share user information with third parties and does not outsource data handling to external entities.
The following features may be added in the future to improve service quality or usability. When they are added, this policy will be updated and you will be notified within the App.
When changes occur, we will notify users at least 7 days in advance through in-app announcements or update notes.
The App is not primarily intended for children under the age of 14, and we do not intentionally collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has entered their personal information, we will delete it without delay.
You have the following rights:
All data is stored only on your device, protected by the operating system's standard safeguards within the app's sandbox.
